ABOUT REAL COMBAT ONLINE
THE PREMIER REALITY FIGHTING MAGAZINE

"Dedicated to all who seek and speak the truth about the fighting arts!"

RCO MISSION STATEMENT

Reality Combat Online was created with the sole purpose of providing a forum for truth and reality in the combative arts. RCO is committed to being the world leader in the advancement of reality-based fighting arts and a voice for those who practice them. As a magazine we vow to exceed your expectations by providing the most realistic information and objective coverage available.

"Reality is Our Business!"

The goal of RCO is to provide an online magazine-based forum for the advancement and promotion of real fighting arts. It was created to offer its members a single place to go for no-nonsense information on what works and what doesn't in the real world.

Each issue will bring the subscriber invaluable insights into the techniques and tactics of real fighting and self-defense and into the minds of those experts who teach them without compromise.

RCO POLICY AND RULES STATEMENT

The following rules form the foundation for Reality Combat Online and provide the guidelines for content and the limitations concerning what you will (and will not) find in this Magazine.

"The No Spin Zone for the fighting arts!"

No Politics.
If the purpose of RCO is to establish a place where only the truth is allowed to be spoken then we have and obligation to present any and all valid points of view - as long as they are reality-based.

RCO will give voice " to all who speak the truth" - regardless of their style or system, politics or chosen affiliations. We at RCO believe that "truth is truth" no matter who says it.

We also recognize that no art, artist, organization, style, system or method has exclusive rights to the truth and therefore no single person, group or entity shall be excluded from having the opportunity to present their views as long as they are deemed beneficial to our viewers.

No Egos.
No single person knows all there is to know about the fighting arts. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses and different points of view. Because of this we encourage everyone who contributes and our readers to RCO to check their egos at the door.

In RCO, all valid points of view will be acknowledged as long as they are supported by science, fact or experience. RCO will not publish any outlandish, egocentric or otherwise unsubstantiated claims of (or about) individuals, systems or styles unless they are backed by indisputable and undeniable proof. Criticism of others is allowed only if substantiated by absolute factual information, in other words get your facts straight.

No Bias.
Interpersonal combat between human beings is a vast subject and RCO is dedicated to giving voice to all aspects of the armed and unarmed fighting arts as long as they are practical and realistic. This means RCO will strive to provide information to its members on all related subjects including:

  • Self Protection
  • Combat Martial Arts
  • Combative Firearms
  • Weapon craft
  • Training and Conditioning
  • Health and Fitness
  • Conflict Management
  • Behavioral Psychology
  • Equipment and Gear

Although some issues will feature a specific topic it is our goal to provide information on as many of these related subjects as possible presenting our readers with a wide spectrum of useful knowledge regardless of what their primary interest is.

No Bull
Above all RCO is about truth. All concepts, methodologies, techniques, tactics and strategies must be firmly based in scientific reality. Those who present obvious liabilities or offer ridiculous claims will not be included. Content submissions that present unrealistic solutions or do not take into account obvious factors such as extreme complexity, margin for error, stress overload, opponent resistance, environmental and logistical problems or other real world factors will not be accepted unless such issues are addressed as part of the article.

Only those articles and content submissions that represent a firm grasp of the truth of real fighting will be allowed in RCO magazine. No exceptions!

Rules Of The RCO Forum

Forums can be a great place to share ideas and concepts and unite people of like interests. Unfortunately they can also be an ugly place were people sling insults at each other endlessly. Many of the martial arts (and related) forums operating today are not well moderated and as a result they often run rampant with unsubstantiated criticism, personal attacks or outlandish claims.

We encourage RCO subscribers to participate in the online members forum and to become apart of an ongoing dialog to promote truth in the fighting arts. We want you to share your thoughts regarding our content or your personal prospective and experiences. After all, this is why RCO was created in the first place - as a vehicle for the advancement of reality-based combative arts. However, logical debate is one thing and prejudicial or ignorance-based attacks are quite another.

Some forums allow (and even encourage) visceral personal exchanges between members and styles often without a single fact to back them up. Often such attacks continue back and forth, add infinitum and nothing is ever resolved. We at RCO believe this to be counterproductive and that such exchanges are not only completely unprofessional but ultimately do more harm than good. As a result of such childish exchanges present on many forums, people who might become involved or have something of value to contribute choose instead to remain silent.

The bottom line is the RCO Forum is a place to discuss ideas presented in the magazine by its columnists, contributors and readers, a place to try and find common ground for the purpose of advancing and promoting the arts themselves. It is not a place for self-edification or endless criticism without factual basis.

This does not mean that we do not encourage heated discussion or even outright criticism of our content, forum members or participants when it is valid - we do! However, if a member wants to criticize or discuss anything (or anyone) on the RCO forum it must be done from a position of factual knowledge or first hand experience, not conjecture or ignorance.

In other words we expect all participants to have a valid and provable point in all discussions or keep their comments to themselves. Those who violate this will receive warnings and if they persist will be banned from the forum.

At RCO we want to earn your respect and trust and pledge not to violate these rules and principles for any reason now or in the future. We hope you enjoy our magazine!

More than a magazine, more than a website. RCO is your source for real world information on the fighting arts. Welcome to the reality revolution! WELCOME TO REAL COMBAT ONLINE!
